Formation

Pope Francis says priestly formation depends on allowing oneself to be shaped by God.

Pope John Paul II outlined the four main pillars of priestly formation—human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral—in Pastores Dabo Vobis. Although while one location is separate from the others, they are all inherently connected.

The entire structure of formation that directs the candidate's growth towards the priesthood is made up of the four dimensions.

Human Formation's goal is to support seminarians in their quest to develop the moral character and personality required for priestly service in the Church. It “seeks to prepare men to be bridges for, not obstacles to, the spread of the Gospel.” (Program of Priestly Formation, 83) The Human Formation Program's services and extracurricular activities are designed to help the seminarian become a man of communion, demonstrate affective maturity, grow in true freedom, develop a strong moral character, be truthfully oriented, show respect for all people, take proper care of his physical well-being, be a responsible steward of temporal goods, and be a confidant.

Our seminarians strive to deepen their connection with Christ via prayer and meditation as it relates to spiritual formation. They experience the encompassing love of God in their lives and participate in His gracious compassion via this relationship.

To genuinely proclaim Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life to the faith communities they serve, our seminarians seek to develop their faith through study of philosophy and theology in the area of intellectual formation. Our seminarians acquire the knowledge and character needed to serve as gospel messengers in all circumstances.

Every Sundays Theology Students have their pastoral ministry in different parishes, while philosophy students have various social service platforms such as Prayer meetings, Hair dressing, Tuition, Washing clothes and so on.
